What is Farm School OC?
Farm School OC is a one-of-a-kind experience for children ages 3 1/2 to 12 at Zoomars at River Ranch in San Juan Capistrano.
Animals and farming are the heart of our programs.
Our goal at Farm School OC is to nurture empathy and compassion for animals, to model an appreciation for farming, sustainability, buying local, eating healthy and making the world a better place.
At Farm School OC the students feed, brush and interact with the animals daily which teaches empathy and compassion. It also improves a child’s social skills and increases motivation and learning.
Our Farm School OC students also help prepare fresh food, learn about where it comes from and then get to try it out. When students learn about farming, where food comes from and how it is grown, they are more likely to taste new foods and build a foundation of lifelong healthy eating choices.
Our Farm School OC program for ages 3 1/2 to 7 is geared towards younger students and is a great way to dive into the farm to table lifestyle and learn basic concepts about farming, agriculture, where our food comes from, animal care and compassion and so much more. Children also spend time daily learning new songs and enjoying arts & crafts projects!
Our Farm School OC program for ages 7 to 12 features more in-depth lessons about gardening and agriculture, science experiments, healthy recipe making and so much more!
We believe that children need to have fun while learning so everyday is fun and educational on the farm!

What Is A Typical Day At Farm School For Students Ages 3 1/2 to 7?
10:30-10:45 - Students Arrive & Circle Time
During circle time we welcome everyone by name and start our day with music and stories.
10:45 - 11:00 - Playground Time
11:00- 11:15 - Snack time
11:15 - 12:15 - Daily Lesson
Our daily lesson will include animal education and planting, farming or cooking with food on the farm. Each daily lesson will include math, science, literacy, art and music. This is a hands on learning time where the kids get involved and have fun while they learn.
12:15 - 12:30 - Lunch With Story Time
12:30 - 1:15 - Animal Interactions
Each day at Farm School the kids spend time brushing, feeding and just being with the animals at Zoomars at River Street Ranch. This is always their favorite time of the day!
